This is the true story of how a friend and I both cured our ulcerative colitis with nicotine, on the advice of old medical doctors. Because tobacco has been given a lot of bad press these days, most modern doctors don’t think of it but it worked for my friend and I, it worked fast and it worked completely. I want to publicize this, because since governments have raised to price of tobacco, most smokers have quit and many may be suffering from colitis without knowing why. And other colitis victims, who’ve never smoked, may be missing a simple cure.
I’ll begin with my case. Years ago, when the government doubled the price of tobacco, I quit smoking. About three months later, I developed colitis, which is the most painful illness I’ve ever had. Because it hurt so much when food went through my colon, I cut back on food and lost 50 pounds. I could not work. Painkillers constipated me and made the condition worse, so I took them only at night, to get some sleep. I spent my days lying on the couch, groaning. A doctor told me I needed years of pricey drugs. While I was sick, I spoke to my friend Barry about it on the phone. His wife, Kris, worked in a health food store, so she looked up colitis in the books on sale there. She found a book by a gastroenterologist who revealed that nicotine cures and prevents colitis. I tried to smoke my pipe but my lungs were cleared out from not smoking and I couldn’t hack it. However, someone had given me a sample pack of chewing tobacco years before and I still had it in my fridge, so I started using it. I’m not kidding–after one day I thought I felt a little better but I figured it could just be in my mind, because when you’re sick, you want to feel better. But on the second day, I knew I felt better and I walked downtown twice with my buddy Bob. On the third day, I raked all the leaves off my lawn. After that, I had no pain at all, so I gradually went back to work. I say gradually, because I was weak from the weight loss. But I never looked back. I ate normally and gained the weight again. I have been completely cured for at least twenty years.
The name of the book I read was Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis: Everything You Need To Know, by Fred Saibil, MD> The relevant information is on pages 80-81 and I quote:
“Nicotine protects some people against ulcerative colitis! In the mid-1980’s the following case was reported in the medical literature.
“A young woman in Boston decided to quit smoking. Shortly thereafter she developed ulcerative colitis. She was referred to a gastroenterologist but proved to have a stubborn case that did not respond well to treatment. She became frustrated and began smoking again. Her colitis got better. Once she was normal, she quit smoking a second time. The colitis returned and was again resistant to therapy. Once again, she started smoking and the colitis settled down. She quit smoking yet another time and her colitis returned. At this point she went to her doctor and told him that every time she stopped smoking, she developed colitis and every time she started again, the colitis was controlled. Her doctor wondered if it could be the nicotine and treated her with nicotine gum, which was the only medical form of nicotine available at that time. She and her doctor then determined that 12 milligrams of nicotine daily controlled her colitis but 6 milligrams daily did not.
“”Statistics from the Boston university hospital system and many other centers have shown that there are three times as many non-smokers as smokers with ulcerative colitis. Studies have also shown that it is not the act of stopping smoking that increases the risk; rather, it is simply the fact of becoming a nonsmoker. This means that a person who quits smoking has the same risk of developing colitis as a person who has never smoked.
“How nicotine protects against ulcerative colitis is unknown.” End of quote.
My friend Gary also cured himself of colitis, on the advice of a retired doctor, who advised him to chew a little tobacco. I figure he has been cured for at least 30 years.
The establishment drug route to a cure was taken by another friend, Ken. He said he had eight years of pain and trying expensive drugs before he got relief and he still looked unnaturally skinny, which is a symptom of colitis.
Today, there are many alternatives to choose from. You can vape, smoke, patch or chew your way to a cure.
Meanwhile, I eat more or less what I want, without worry. If I eat a lot of really greasy food for days, I can get a little pain but if I only eat it once in a while, I’m fine. I’m not a picky eater and I’m not on a special diet. I eat normally. I still chew tobacco and so does my friend Gary. I am not a doctor. I’m a survivor.
Thank you for reading my article. I hope you will find it helpful. Should you cure yourself by smoking or chewing tobacco, please do not feel guilty, because using tobacco is not a sin. Sins only happen when we break God’s Laws, which are plainly detailed in the Bible. I have six Bibles, I’ve read them all and in none of them is tobacco listed as a sin. Tobacco, it seems, can be a helpful herb, for which we can give thanks to God, so get well soon!
